Common questions
My alert did not arrive.
Check that notifications are enabled for Leave By in your device settings, and that battery optimisation is not restricting the app in the background. Alerts are scheduled server-side, so they should arrive even with the app closed — if one is missed, tell us the event time and your timezone and we can trace it.
Why does it ask for my location?
Only if you have Premium, which recalculates travel time from where you actually are. If you have allowed location, a rough position is also used to show nearby places first when you search for an address. It is used only while the app is open, never in the background, never stored — and the free version never asks for it at all.
Does it need access to my calendar?
No. Calendar import is entirely optional and uses Google's own consent screen for read-only access to the next 7 days. The app never writes to your calendar, and disconnecting stops all further access.
Is Leave By free?
Yes — during launch every feature is included and nothing can be bought. Some features will later move to an optional Leave By Premium subscription, and early users keep them free for a while after that. You will be told in the app before anything changes.
How do I delete my data?
Settings → Account → Delete account removes your account and everything stored server-side. You can also email us and we will do it for you.

Reporting a security issue
If you believe you have found a vulnerability, please email leaveby@spikewave.tech with the details rather than disclosing it publicly. We will acknowledge it and keep you updated on the fix.
